There is a growing demand for alternatives to gas-powered outdoor power equipment. Makita is meeting the demand with a growing line of cordless OPEs, including the 18V LXT® Brushless 6″ Pruning Saw (XCU14). The 6″ Pruning Saw is lightweight and compact, making it the perfect option for light-duty limb cutting and pruning.

The 6-inch pruning saw features a Makita brushless motor for optimal cutting performance. It features “tool-free” chain adjustment for convenient operation and maintenance, as well as a retractable guard for convenient operation and maintenance. The XCU14 can make up to 140 cuts in 2” cedar on one fully charged 18V LXT® 2.0 Ah battery.

Convenient features include a soft grip handle that is designed to make it easier for the user to apply even cutting pressure. It is lightweight at just 3.7 lbs. with battery for reduced operator fatigue.The 6-inch pruning saw features an efficient Makita brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) provides improved dust and water resistance for tough conditions.

It is part of Makita's expanded 18V LXT system, the world's largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-in batteries. Makita® 18V LXT® lithium-ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their category, so you spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita has created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is a communication technology that allows the tool and the Star Protection-equipped battery to exchange real-time data and monitor conditions during use to protect against overload, overdischarge and overheating. For greater versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita® 18V LXT® lithium-ion batteries with a star symbol on the battery to indicate Star Protection inside.
